Jhoola Devi Temple is a known temple here built in the 8th century. It is dedicated to Goddess Durga and pilgrims believe that the deity fulfils the wishes of all her devotees. Here you can hear holy bells ringing all day long. It is said that a shepherd discovered a statue of Goddess Durga here following which the temple was constructed here. Ram Mandir is another popular place of worship in Ranikhet. Take a flight of stairs to reach the temple top. Here students can be seen taking classes on ancient vedas along with Vedic and modern mathematics. Haidakhan Babaji Temple is also a popular shrine here dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple was raised by Shri Haidakhan Maharaj and attracts large number of devotees. From here you can spot massive Himalayan peaks like Pancha Chooli, Nanda Devi and Trishul Parvat.
Nature lovers must visit Majkhali, 13 km from Ranikhet. From here you can catch stunning vistas of Mount Trishul. It is a perfect place to enjoy picnics, adventure activities and unwinding. Bhalu Dam, an artificial small lake, is also a beautiful place in Ranikhet. It was built in1903 by the British Government. The dam site is nestling with natural charms, views of the Himalayan Mountains, and scenic surroundings. There is also a small garden close to the lake where you can spot numerous birds chirping. Golf Ground Ranikhet is also a major attraction of the hill station built in the lap of Garhwal Himalayas. This is known for being one of the highest in Asia.
